Award-Winning Content
In 2020, HONOLULU Magazine won best multimedia storytelling for their web series “Soldiering On: 17 Nisei Veterans Share Stories of the Lives They Built in Hawaiʻi.” The team consisted of writer Jayna Omaye, photographer Aaron K. Yoshino, digital editorial specialist Katie Kenny, art director Janelle Kalawe-Ching and creative director James Nakamura. In addition to directing the web strategy, planning the UX with visual effects, audio clips and CTA banners on each page, Katie created the behind-the-scenes video of the 5-month process.
Challenge Accepted
From rappelling down a hotel in Waikiki to trying an Iron Chef’s recipe for udon noodles, Katie is ready for adventure and up to any challenge.
